Sadiya Ramos is a Black-Puerto Rican multidisciplinary artist, born and raised in New York.
As a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Sadiya earned her B.F.A. in Contemporary Dance Performance during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, against all odds.
Sadiya was just three years old when her family discovered her innate connection to movement after attending her mother’s dance rehearsal.
She embarked upon her dance journey at Dance Theatre of Harlem, under the guidance of Arthur Mitchell, where she traveled and performed with the ensemble at world renowned venues such as the Kennedy Center and the White House.
She later trained under the instruction of Francios Perron at French Academie of Ballet, Reagan Wood at the Paul Taylor Teen Ensemble, Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet, and Debbie Allen’s Dance Academy (DADA). During her time at DADA, she performed with Stevie Wonder and a robust ensemble of young, gifted artists, opening the Special Olympics.
While studying at the Boston Conservatory, Sadiya trained under Brian McGinnis, Kurt Douglas, Marissa Parmenter, Marcus Schulkind, and Tai Jimenez. She has worked with and performed repertoires of eminent artists such as Darrell Moultrie, Jennifer Archibald, Juel D. Lane, Otis Sallid, and Yuri Yanowsky.
Sadiya was a recipient of the Formation Scholarship established and granted by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter to encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and be bold, creative, conscious and confident.
Sadiya is also an International Trainer with the MindLeaps organization that uses dance to promote socio-emotional learning for marginalized youth. She instructed young dancers in Kigali, Rwanda and was humbled to be a part of MindLeaps’ first program in the United States, located in Brooklyn, New York.
She was a member of the Peridance Contemporary Dance Company for 5 seasons. In Spring 2024, she toured in France with the Rioult Dance Project. Later that year, she performed with McKoy Dance Project, premiering a duet entitled "Sketched".
Sadiya performed with the Rioult Dance Project this Spring.
